What is XML Sitemap ?
XML Sitemap is an mapping protocol, which allows the crawlers of search engines to inform the URL's present in you sites.
In easy words, It is an more efficient and easy way to find URL's that may be hidden or isolated from the rest of the website content.
XML Sitemap Example :
XML stands for Extensible Markup Language. It is the same as the HTML language.
There are two major types of Sitemaps :
* XML Sitemap :
These Sitemaps are written for the robots and computers. The language is based on computers and they are written for the Search engines like Google to examine you site or blog and crawl onto it.
* HTML Sitemap :
These Sitemaps are written for the human use, which enables an user to find a page or article on your blog or site that the user is looking for.
There are many advantages or pro's of Sitemap :
* It is easier for an search engine to find URL's in your site.
* It is one of the best SEO trick you can apply on your site.
* It find a human user easier to look for an article or post easily on your site.
* Indexing of you site in search engines like Google boosts up.
* It can be beneficial for your blog rankings in Google.
There are many sites on Google that generates sitemaps.
Some of them are :
* labnol.org
* xml-sitemaps.com
* websiteseochecker.com
You just have to :
- Open one of those site
- Copy your website URL and paste it on the black given.
- And click on the "Generate" button and copy the code.
After you got the code, Follow the steps below to apply youe generated sitemap on your Blog :
- Open your blogger,
- Go t setting, and click on "Search Preferences"
- Enable robots.txt and paste the copied code on the blank. And click on save.
- Now, click on "Custom robots Header Tags". Enable it and tick the options which I had done Below, and Click on Save.
Now, to submit your Sitemap to Google. Follow the steps below :
- Open your "Google Search Console" and Login to it.
- Submit on select your property
- On the left Click on "Sitemaps"
- Copy You site URL and paste on the "Add a new Site Map"
and add /sitemap.xml to your site and and click on submit.
Example: [ https://example.com/sitemap.xml ]
This is the Way you can successfully generate, apply and Submit your site map to Google.
